Deferit pays your biller using the method they accept — either electronically or by mailing a check. We always follow the payment instructions listed on your bill.
Electronic payments
If your biller accepts online or electronic payments, we’ll send the funds directly to their account. This is the fastest option, with most payments processing within 1 business day — often within hours.
ACH transfers
If your biller doesn’t accept direct online payments but does accept ACH transfers, we’ll use this method. ACH payments typically take 2–3 business days to process, depending on the biller’s bank.
Check payments
If your biller only accepts checks, we’ll mail one to the address listed on your bill. Delivery and processing usually take 7–10 business days, so we recommend uploading your bill early to avoid late fees.
If there’s ever an issue — like a payment being returned or rejected — we’ll contact you right away to resolve it quickly.
