If you don’t want to use Deferit right now but might come back later, you can pause your membership instead of cancelling. Pausing protects your account balance and limit, and you won’t be charged while paused.

How to pause your membership
- Log in to your account via the app or website.
- Go to Settings > Membership.
- Select Cancel membership.
- Choose Pause membership instead, and pick how long you’d like to pause: 1, 2, or 3 months.
Your membership will automatically resume at the end of your chosen pause period. You can also resume early at any time from Settings > Membership.
What happens while you’re paused
- You won’t be charged a membership fee while paused.
- Your account balance and limit stay protected — they won’t change while you’re paused.
- You’ll keep access to your account, but you won’t be able to upload new bills until you resume.
- If you have existing bill repayments in progress, these continue as normal — pausing only affects your membership, not repayments already underway.
- You’ll get an email reminder 1 week before your membership automatically resumes.
Resuming your membership
- If you resume within your paid period, there’s no new charge.
- If you resume after your paid period has ended, a new membership fee is charged when you resume.
- You can pause again later if you need to.
Refunds while paused
Pausing doesn’t automatically refund you, and it doesn’t stop future billing — your membership will resume and be charged again at the end of the pause. If you haven’t used your account and would like a refund, you can request one the same way as usual. If you’d rather cancel instead, you can do so in the app — see How do I cancel my subscription? for details.
