$0.99 processing fee
Each successful debit or credit card payment — including Pay in 4 and Bill Pay — includes a flat $0.99 processing fee. This helps cover payment costs while keeping Deferit interest-free.
Security deposit (Pay in 4 only)
In some cases, we may request a one-time, refundable security deposit before approving your first Pay in 4 bill. This deposit is returned after a period of consistent on-time payments.
Late fees (Lite plan only)
Only Lite members may be charged late fees. How much depends on when your bill was created:
Bills created before September 9, 2026:
- $10 if a payment is 2 days overdue
- An additional $8 if unpaid after 7 days
- Capped at the lesser of $68 or 25% of the repayment amount
Bills created on or after September 9, 2026:
- $4 if a payment isn't made by the due date
- An additional $12 if unpaid after 2 days
- An additional $12 if unpaid after 7 days
- No cap on the total amount of late fees
Max and Ultra members never pay late fees.
What's included in all plans
- Pay in 4: Split eligible bills into four interest-free installments
- Bill Pay: Pay bills in full using your card — we'll pay the biller directly
- Bill Negotiation: Lite and Max include limited requests; Ultra includes unlimited
- Credit reporting: On-time payments across all products are reported to credit bureaus
