Your first installment is due on the date shown in your payment schedule. For bills we pay directly, the first installment is payable on the date we pay your bill. This does not mean your biller receives payment on the same day.
Step 1: Your available balance
Your available balance is shown in your account. Each bill is subject to approval, and the amount available may change. A displayed balance does not guarantee approval of a bill.
Step 2: Your first installment
For the approved amount split through Pay in 4, the first installment is 25%, followed by three equal installments every two weeks.
Example: If $200 is approved for Pay in 4, the bill repayments are $50 for the first installment (payable on the date you select the bill to be paid) and three further payments of $50. This illustrates the bill repayments only, not the total charges, please refer to article “What are the fees and other charges?” for more information.
Step 3: What’s included in your first payment
Review your payment summary to see the installment, any other upfront bill amount, applicable fees and any required security deposit. Your membership fee is monthly, not a fee charged with every installment.
Your first charge typically includes:
- 25% of the bill amount being split through Pay in 4
- Your monthly membership fee, if it is due at that time you enrol to be a member and is payable every month thereafter unless you cancel or pause your membership.
- A $0.99 card processing fee per every payment made on the platform.
If you are required to pay a refundable security deposit, this will be shown to you before proceeding. For more information see “What is the security deposit”?
Example:
If you’re a Lite member and the bill you wish to pay is $400, your first payment will be:
- $100 first installment (25% of the approved $400 bill amount)
- + $14.99 (membership)
- + $0.99 (processing fee)
- = $115.98 total. This example excludes any application fee ($1.99) and security deposit (if applicable).
